Marco Cristini, Cactea: la prima rivista italiana dedicata alle succulente – Piante Grasse 42:1 (2022)
The first Italian journal entirely devoted to succulent plants appeared in Ventimiglia in 1934. Called Cactea, it was edited by Ermanno Corte, who owned a nursery specialized in cacti and other succulents. This paper offers an overview of a few articles which were published in the nine issues of the journal, briefly describe Corte’s project of founding an Italian cactus and succulent association and finally summarizes the contents of all issues.
